It’s amazing to see the reaction of the mainstream leftist media as the Sarah Palin bashing continues in the wake of her continuing stellar performances as the vice presidential nominee of John McCain. I thought I had seen the heights of hypocrisy when Collin Powel and Condi Rice were smeared as being, not really black, and their many achievements not celebrated because they had the temerity to disagree with the liberal masters of the Democrat party. I continue to be astonished that the first woman on the Supreme Court, Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, is thought to be the work of a Democrat president when in fact it was Ronald Reagan who appointed her. Now with the amazing connection Sarah Palin has demonstrated with the silent majority of Main Street America, to see the Sexism and derision of so called Feminists, attacking Palin with such vitriol, because she’s a conservative, astounds me to my core. Here is a woman who IS America in her very essence, who has lived a life of achievement and adventure, attacked by sour faced “feminists” at every turn because she is her own woman! It leaves me speechless!
I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a “community organizer,” except that you have actual responsibilities. I might add that in small towns, we don’t quite know what to make of a candidate who lavishes praise on working people when they are listening, and then talks about how bitterly they cling to their religion and guns when those people aren’t listening.
It’s easy to see how Sarah Palin may well be the “Iron Lady” of American Politics and yet the feeding frenzy of those fake champions of Civil Rights, the Democrats are once again shown up as the hypocrites they are. Apparently Identity Politics is a sham and a rouse to divide people while the real agenda remains socialism and big government. The entrenched elitist of the media are aghast because she’s never kissed their backsides and therefore she hasn’t been properly “vetted”. Women feminist reporters deride the fact that she had her speech written for her by a speech writer (Just like every major politician including Obama and McCain) and search franticly for anything they can use against her. The anger of the Washington press and the elitists is palpable and the reason is that John McCain has unleashed the best spokeswoman for conservatives since Ronald Reagan. There’s nothing phony about Sarah Palin and she’s not beholden to any of the pet interest groups who rule the media; she’s as smart as a whip and I’d trust her to be President if something should happen to John McCain without a moment’s hesitation. I would sooner trust the fate of my country to her then almost any serving member in congress. Sarah Palin reminds us of what it’s like to be an American first and an Ideological Elitist Hypocrite dead last: and the nation likes what it sees.
And I’ve learned quickly, these past few days, that if you’re not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone.
But here’s a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I’m not going to Washington to seek their good opinion – I’m going to Washington to serve the people of this country. Americans expect us to go to Washington for the right reasons, and not just to mingle with the right people.
The message of the McCain Palin ticket is that change is at hand and they are it. In the words of governor Palin last night: “Some people use “change” to advance their careers while others use their careers to advance change for the better.” Barak Obama talks a good game but McCain has a career full of risks taken, based on principle, that put his country before his political ambitions just like his proposed Vice President Sarah Palin. I’ve had my doubts about John McCain and his stands on Illegal Immigration, Interrogation Tactics, and Global Warming but with the selection of Sarah Palin he’s going to groom the best conservative voice since Reagan. Governor Palin has a record as a maverick herself and she’s wildly popular in Alaska as being very down to earth and yet she’s as shrewd and practical a political operator as anyone could ask for in advancing conservative governance. When you get right down to it change is here and its name is indeed McCain and Palin as demonstrated by their record in addition to their words.
With Russia wanting to control a vital pipeline in the Caucasus, and to divide and intimidate our European allies by using energy as a weapon, we cannot leave ourselves at the mercy of foreign suppliers.
To confront the threat that Iran might seek to cut off nearly a fifth of world energy supplies … or that terrorists might strike again at the Abqaiq facility in Saudi Arabia … or that Venezuela might shut off its oil deliveries … we Americans need to produce more of our own oil and gas.
When I consider the Socialist Messiah Barak Obama and his running mate Bombastic Joe Bidden and the terrible dangers in the world today I fear for my country. I’m still concerned by the threats we face from the economic system, the Russians, the Chinese, and the Islamic Terrorists but with the McCain Palin ticket I have some hope that we have someone who is up to the challenge. Any realistic appraisal of Obama must necessarily show that he’s all smoke and mirrors. He’s spent all his time in congress running for president. I don’t think Joe Bidden’s ever held a real job in his life: he got into congress when he was in his twenties. Bidden has been wasting money in congress all his life and he’s been getting reelected into old age and HE IS THE PROBLEM WITH THIS COUNTRY. This begs the question: Why would our Messiah Obama, the crown prince of change, pick the King of Corruption and the Status Quo as his running mate? Just what change is Obama talking about? Socialism? Entitlements? More words? Eloquent words? How is Obama going to deal with Putin? How is Obama going to stop the spending and pay off our national debt? How is Obama going to keep “social security” from being looted? How is Obama going to stand up to the Chinese or Islamic Terrorists with Atomic Bombs? I keep asking these questions and I keep getting the same answers: “Change”. Whatever.
But listening to him speak, it’s easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform – not even in the state senate.
This is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word “victory” except when he’s talking about his own campaign. But when the cloud of rhetoric has passed … when the roar of the crowd fades away … when the stadium lights go out, and those Styrofoam Greek columns are hauled back to some studio lot – what exactly is our opponent’s plan?
Sarah Palin continues to excel in spite of the best efforts of “Elite Media”, Feminists, and self styled Washington cocktail party power brokers. Sarah is taking on all comers and has emerged as a shining star that conservatives will follow gladly out of the messianic double talk of the Obama Campaign. Sarah is real. Obama is a dream that needs to be fleshed out with substance and real accomplishment to be realized. The Obama Bidden ticket is the promise of change while the Maverick McCain and Governor Palin are the change we’ve been looking for. It’s going to be an interesting election in spite of the best efforts of the entrenched leftist media and the Washington Cocktail Party crowd and wouldn’t it be fun to see McCain and Palin win this thing?
Our nominee doesn’t run with the Washington herd.
He’s a man who’s there to serve his country, and not just his party.
A leader who’s not looking for a fight, but is not afraid of one either. Harry Reid, the Majority Leader of the current do-nothing Senate, not long ago summed up his feelings about our nominee.
He said, quote, “I can’t stand John McCain.” Ladies and gentlemen, perhaps no accolade we hear this week is better proof that we’ve chosen the right man. Clearly what the Majority Leader was driving at is that he can’t stand up to John McCain. That is only one more reason to take the maverick of the Senate and put him in the White House. My fellow citizens, the American presidency is not supposed to be a journey of “personal discovery.” This world of threats and dangers is not just a community, and it doesn’t just need an organizer.
